Prof. Chiu-Yue Lin is a Chair Professor of Department of Environmental Engineering and Science, Department of Water Resource Engineering, Feng Chia University, Taiwan and is currently Director of Green Energy Development Center, Feng Chia University. He is also a Co-Chairman of Asia Bio-HyLinks (ABHL), President of IAHE-Taiwan Chapter, head of APEC Research Center of Advanced Biohydrogen and a Taiwanese representative of IEA-HIA Task 21. He obtained his PhD degree (Engineering) from Tohoku University, Japan in 1986. Prof. Lin is specialized in Biological Wastewater Treatment, Anaerobic Digestion, Biohydrogen Energy and Bioenergy Technology. He received The Chinese Institute of Engineers Outstanding Engineering Professor Award in 2012. He was named in Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers 2014. Over the last 30 years with Feng Chia University, Prof. Lin has successfully developed green bioenergy research field and has published around 450 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers.

Biohydrogen/biohythane lab is one parts of Asia Pacific Economy Commission Research Center for Advanced Biohydrogen Technology (APEC ACABT). APEC ACABT is mainly supported by MOST, Taiwan and is an international platform connecting the worldwide researchers in the fields of biotechnology, chemical engineering, and environmental engineering/science. APEC ACABT has 7 branch centers in South- and North Asia. Another international platform is Asia bio-HyLinks (ABHL). Based on these two platforms, we (1) develop a blue print for the cost effective facilities for the bio-hydrogen production from the biomass and the biological processes. (2) By using the biomass instead of the fossil resources, CO2 emission and the dependence on fossil fuel will be reduced. (3) Provide the exchange flat of the technical and the scientific information in the academic and industrial sectors in the fields of bio-hydrogen production by biomass and the biological processes among the neighboring Asian countries. (4) Develop the knowledge and application of biohydrogen/biohythane among the society. (5) Establish a good foundation and environment for the development of biohydrogen technology among Asian countries. (6) Promote biohydrogen/biohythane education to Asia researchers and the academia. 

Our researches are investigating on biological conversion of biomass into bio-H2 or biohythane as the renewable biofuels. We use agricultural wastes as the feedstock with mixed microflora as the seed inoculum. In Feng Chia University campus, there have lab-and pilot-scale biohydrogen/biohythane fermenters, mobile synergy electricity-generation system and Bioenergy Magic Park. Our field-coworkers include our technology-users such as pig farms and an innovative engine factory.
