PERSONAL INTRODUCTION AND HONORS

Prof. Chang obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994. Between 1994 and 1995, Prof. Chang worked as a consultant in California, USA and engaged in an EPRI Power Quality and a PG&E Distribution Automation project. He was with Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution, LLC., Minnesota, USA, from 1995 to 1998 and was in charge of resource scheduling functions of EMS/SCADA projects for electric utilities worldwide. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Chung Cheng University since 1998. At present, Prof. Chang serves as an associate editor for both IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery and IEEE Power Engineering Letters. He also has served as the guest editor for special issues of several IEEE Transactions. Prof. Chang is the past Chair of IEEE PES Power Quality Subcommittee (2016-2017) and currently is the Chair of IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Committee (2019-2020). He has been actively engaged in the collaboration between academia and local electric power industry since 1998.  Prof. Chang is an IEEE Fellow and a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Minnesota, USA.

 

LAB INTRODUCTION

Power Quality Research Lab enegages in power quality studies related to modern and classic nonlinear loads, renewable energy resources, and microgrid. The lab provides a cutting-edge research areas and has been very productive is academic and industrial publications, as well as conducting projects to solve real-world power and energy engineering problems.
